Ro\u017eanec, Gregor Leban and Dunja Mladeni\u0107<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><br \/>Strategic foresight helps organizations anticipate future chal-<br \/>lenges and opportunities, allowing them to handle uncertainty<br \/>better. While strategic foresight is becoming more widely adopted<br \/>across organizations, the process still heavily relies on expert<br \/>knowledge, and little of it has been automated through artificial<br \/>intelligence. In this research, we explore how media news events<br \/>can be analyzed to forecast event types that will take place in<br \/>the near future. In particular, we consider it a supervised ma-<br \/>chine learning problem with a well-defined set of event types and<br \/>leverage graph representation of the media news events to create<br \/>graph embeddings, train a classifier, and predict event types that<br \/>will likely occur one day ahead.
